Thanks for reading Grace. My rape was tough in part due to my age - I'm 62 now. I was 55 when it happened and then my brain locked the memory away from me. So I have only just learned sabout it. It was a lot to process and I'll be processing for some time. I had excellent counseling and the writing I've done about the rape has helped enormously too. I was surprised to reread one of my pieces the other day. It made me realize that I "offloaded" the worst of the memory in my writing. Much of the rage around what happened to me has calmed down enormously since pulling the memory out and safely putting the expereince on paper.
