My two grown children are attempting to navigate their first big “disagreement.” I raised them as a single mom and was HUGELY aware of how horribly I had been parented. Every choice I made as a single parent had been thoughtfully and mindfully considered in relation to what I had not gotten and the way I wished I had been parented.

Reading your short piece has me looking at both my kids now and trying to see their disagreement through the lens of unresolved trauma with me.

It’s chilling.
